Training

In dept technical training sessions are periodically organised in Sky Man Europe and USA workshops, for skilled service technicians (electro-mechanical background), operating worldwide with our local distributors and key end users.

All technicians on Sky Man record, are certified to 'competent person'  under EN 1808 (and other applicable standards) for overhaul, service, repair and testing of Sky Man hoists and safety brakes. Competent technicians may re-certify hoists and safety brakes for the next period of safe use, generally one year, depending on the conditions of use.

'Operators' under EN 1808 (and other applicable standards), of any TSP, BMU or industry specific SAE (suspended access equipment), must be trained and certified in the safe use and operation. Certificates are generally valid for a period of 2 years.

Any SAE shall be 'thoroughly examined' before being put into service for the first time and be periodically inspected & re-certified, under local regulations, by a competent person.

Sky Man organizes both 'competent person' and 'operator' training sessions for:

• Temporary suspended access equipment
• Permanent suspended access equipment
• Wind industry specific products

Definitions:

Competent person: Designated person, suitably trained, qualified by knowledge and practical experience  and provided with the necessary instructions to enable him to carry out specified tasks safely.

Operator: Designated person, suitably trained for working at height, qualified by knowledge and practical experience and provided with the necessary information to enable him to carry out operations safely from SAE.

Thorough examination: A competent person shall inspect  SAE enabling him to detect defects or weaknesses and to asses their importance in relation to the safety and continued use of the equipment.
